Poetry for Ages 13-14 / Keystage3 at 3PM

In this session, we will be looking at a contemporary poem to explore colour symbolism as a poetic device. We’ll be looking at the descriptive power colours can have in evoking something beyond the literal, and getting to grips more generally with the concepts of ‘symbolism’ and ‘connotation,’ laying the groundwork for what's expected at English GCSE. A worksheet will be circulated via email previous to this session for use during the class.
